CALL FOR PROPOSALS

ANATOMY is proud to present, unwrap and turn on our March fabuloustacular live, on-stage – for one night only — HAPPY RAINBOW RADIO FUNTIME SHOW.

Bringing joy, cheer and tickling until pink to Summerhall’s wonderful historical anatomy lecture theatre HAPPY RAINBOW RADIO FUNTIME SHOW seeks performers, theatre makers, dancers, clowns, filmmakers, performance artists, manipulators of matter, poets, fairy tales, props in hand, The Incredible Moving Human Statue, chainsaw poi, mimes, music builders and destroyers, performance gastronauts, interactive spectacles: bodies, warts’n’all.

We welcome proposals from all art that blooms in a live space, whatever the medium, to perform at ANATOMY #8: HAPPY RAINBOW RADIO FUNTIME SHOW (8-11pm, March 14th, Summerhall, Edinburgh). Whether they be visceral or explorative, experimental or of narrative thrust, exciting or contemplative, full of violence or solace, we would like to hear from you about your art. This quarter, we are interested in exploring the glistening heart of happiness, and would like to meet the ultimate futility of existence armed with exploding rainbows. We also welcome proposals which are viciously off-theme.

Somewhere between a variety show and a step up from “scratch”,  we are looking for fearless proposals, 5-20 minutes in length, of performance, regardless of trend, style or medium.

ANATOMY is especially welcoming of artists from marginalised and disenfranchised groups, and artists who identify as disabled. If you feel you are often excluded from performance opportunities, we would like to include you and hear how we can do that better.

Selected acts will have access to rehearsal space before the show, a budget of £30, and full technical support.

Please download a form and return, completed, as a single file (.doc .pdf .odt are all fine) to anatomynight@gmail.com by Sunday 16th February 2014.
